This year’s National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) was nothing short of extraordinary. A true celebration of intellect, discipline, and the resilience of young Ghanaian scholars.

From the first question of the preliminaries to the final bell at the New Examination Centre (NEC) of the University of Cape Coast, the competition reaffirmed its place as one of Ghana’s most anticipated academic events.

For the seventh consecutive year, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana proudly supported the NSMQ as part of its commitment to advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.

Our sponsorship of Round 3, Problem of the Day, branded as the Prudential Life NSMQ Star Award, was designed to ignite problem-solving skills and inspire innovation, key drivers of sustainable development.

The journey began at the Preliminary Stage, where over 170 Senior High School across the country showcased months of preparation. Ten schools earned the Prudential Life NSMQ Star Award and received GHC 2,000 each for scoring a perfect 10 points in the Problem of the Day. At the One-Eighth Stage, 19 schools achieved the same feat, winning GHC 2,400 each. The Quarterfinals saw three schools rewarded with GHC 2,800 each, while two semi-finalists received GHC 3,400 each for winning the Prudential Life NSMQ Star Award.

St. Augustine’s College, first runner-up in this year’s NSMQ, stood out for consistently winning the Star Award from the preliminaries through the semi-finals. For this exceptional achievement, they received the Prudential Life NSMQ True Star Award and an additional GHC 1,500 cash prize.

The grand finale at UCC was electric with supporters chanting, contestants focused, and the entire nation watching as science, strategy, and speed collided. In the end, Mfantsipim School emerged victorious, clinching the NSMQ title for the fourth time. We congratulate them for defending their title with excellence.
