Prudential Life Insurance Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing STEM education and actuarial science development by awarding scholarships worth over $20,000 to 15 outstanding graduates from three leading universities in Ghana.
The beneficiaries, five top graduates each from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), and CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) received a package that includes a $500 cash award, a certificate, and reimbursement for professional certification with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) or the Society of Actuaries (USA). The support covers exam fees, study materials for two years, and offers two exam attempts per subject, alongside a one-year internship opportunity with Prudential.
This initiative, under the Prudential Actuarial Support Scheme (PASS), is designed to ease the transition of graduates into the actuarial profession and strengthen Ghana’s talent pipeline. Since its inception in 2014, PASS has supported over 130 actuarial students, underscoring Prudential’s long-term investment in education and professional development.
This year’s awards were marked by a standout achievement: one recipient from UCC graduated as Valedictorian with a perfect FGPA of 4.0, a testament to resilience and the transformative impact of timely support.
Speaking on the initiative, Prudential Life emphasized that its commitment goes beyond business. “We are investing in people to build a resilient and sustainable future. Actuaries play a critical role in navigating uncertainty, and we are proud to shape the next generation of leaders in this field.”
As Prudential celebrates the 2025 awardees, the company continues to champion education and innovation: empowering young professionals to drive financial resilience and sustainable growth in Ghana.
