In a significant step towards environmental sustainability, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana joined the national Trees for Life Restoration Initiative on June 5, 2025. As part of this initiative, the company planted 5,300 mangrove seedlings at the endangered Songoh Lagoon in Ada Foah, a Ramsar site. This effort builds on the success of last year’s initiative, where 2,000 seedlings were planted with an impressive survival rate of over 75%.
We planted 5,300 mangrove seedlings at the endangered Songoh Lagoon in Ada Foah, a Ramsar site. This effort builds on the success of last year’s initiative, where 2,000 seedlings were planted with an impressive survival rate of over 75%.
The tree planting exercise was made possible through a partnership with the Strategic Youth Network Development (SYND), the Ada Forestry Commission, community members, and Wetlands Club of ADA SHS. The restoration of coastal forests is crucial for protecting shorelines, sequestering carbon, and supporting community livelihoods. Mangroves play a vital role in maintaining the health of coastal ecosystems, providing habitat for a diverse range of species, and serving as a natural barrier against storms and erosion.
The success of this initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration. By partnering with the SYND, the Ada Forestry Commission, community members, and Wetlands Club of ADA SHS, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana can make a meaningful contribution to environmental sustainability. The company looks forward to continuing its efforts to promote sustainability and support the well-being of local communities.
